1 Minute Summary of

Do you have the courage of your convictions?

WHY READ THIS

Learn about the importance of being able to make decisions even when circumstances are uncertain.

WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW
The pace of change in today’s business world can be challenging for many leaders. They need courage to make confident decisions even when there is no clear answer or to decide on a course of action even if it is unpopular. Too many individuals play it safe and potentially miss out on opportunities. So, what can leaders do to build their courage?

WHAT YOU CAN DO NOW

  • Have a point of view. Share your opinions with others. You don’t necessarily need to know the right answer, but you should feel comfortable discussing different ideas within your team to agree on a course of action together.

  • Accept the risk of making wrong decisions. Leaders need to accept this risk as part of everyday life in turbulent times. Many CEOs actively promote managers who can show that they have failed and learned from the experience.

  • Be prepared to discuss and acknowledge your failures and weaknesses. Don’t be too concerned about hiding past failures to present a perfect record of success. Hiring managers are not looking for leaders who are indecisive or risk-averse.
